It's that time of year again - Christmas.....well, almost!
Anyway here are some adorable penguins helping out with the decorations......
For such a simple image there were quite a few challenges......
Primarily colouring black and white!
In order to obtain the depth and dimension on the penguins I opted for shades of grey rather than black on their bodies whilst their tummies are a combination of pale blue and very pale grey.
As always I chose to stamp out my image using Memento Angel Pink to give my finished piece a softer no-lines look.
The upper background was created using my trusty YR30, a small natural sponge and some Isopropyl.
I coloured the chosen area with the copic marker, then sprayed the sponge with Isopropyl, dabbing it on some waste card to remove the excess before dabbing it onto the marker. As you can see it gives a lovely mottled texture to the background. Once dry I then coloured the ground before moving on to the penguins themselves, enhancing some of the finer details with coloured pencils.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, you are a true artist m'love! How you get so much life into a stamped image is amazing, I could reach out and pick up a penguin....if they weren't so fishy, in fact I can almost smell them! Absolutely LOVE this, a lot! Hugs xx
Beautiful colouring, Jane, and love that image.

As ever Jane , breathtaking colouring....I could touch them they look so real. It's a great image and I agree not the easiest to colour I'm sure. Chris x
Stunning Jane, Really lovely colouring as always, and a fun image. I have a bit of a fondness for pingus, and love these fellas.
Jane, you've outdone yourself again--you certainly rose to that challenge!
Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing all those details on how you coloured everything. Love the effect of your YR30 trick and the detail you achieved on your penguins is fabulous!
Wow Jane, you never fail to impress me. Your work inspires me to take my coloring to that next level when I see what is possible. I've decided to learn to use my pencils alone so I have a feel for the different blending abilities and then hope to incorporate them with my Copics like you do. TFS!
This card is so much fun...
Coloured to perfection.
I would love you to create your own range of stamps...
Maybe oneday!

Amazing! They are alive dancing across your card. Hugs!
